Safeguarding at Artbox London
Artbox London is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who takes part in our work.
We support learning disabled and autistic adults through workshops, creative opportunities, exhibitions and other activities. We take our responsibility to safeguard the people we work with seriously and do not tolerate abuse, neglect or exploitation in any form.
Our approach to safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting people's right to live safely, free from abuse and neglect.
At Artbox London, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We aim to:
listen to and take seriously the views and concerns of the artists we support;
recognise and respond to concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation or unsafe practice;
take appropriate action where someone may be at risk;
work with families, carers, support providers and statutory services where appropriate;
recruit staff and volunteers safely;
provide appropriate safeguarding training to staff and volunteers; and
handle safeguarding information sensitively and confidentially.
Wherever possible, we involve the person concerned in decisions about their safety and take account of their wishes, communication needs and individual circumstances.
If you have a safeguarding concern
