George is a passionate and expressive artist whose paintings, drawings, and clay works are full of life, colour, and feeling.

Hisba is a prolific artist who works across many mediums, creating eye-catching pieces full of bold colours, geometric shapes, and intricate patterns.

George and Hisba share a passion and talent for writing - George writes poetry, while Hisba writes music lyrics. Themes of rhythm, poetry and song are prevalent across both of their visual practices.

Selected poems by George and Hisba, which were performed at the private view:

The Mona Lisa

Evocative, surreal imaginative

Care precision clarity serene

color pastels paints

oil crayons

all make the Mona Lisa a beautiful art treasure

Vibrancy dedication

Beaming images

Soft lustres

Creativity

Makes the work of the artist

Leornado da Vinci

An artist to be remembered

I will remember you for eternity

Mona Lisa eyes will impress me forever

My Window

My window is made of stain glass

Comforting colours

Leave me amazed

What a treat

What a pleasurable asset to a church

But for me too

As I have a window

Of stained glass

Through and through

light beckons me

With Ambientic colours

Lovely vibes

And a great satisfaction all around

Josie

Music is very strong for people’s spirit

In war there’s no music

I’ve got a couple of words

To lift your spirit

We need to hold hands and come together

Even soldiers need their spirits lifted

By Hisba Brimah

Rory

Smooth, sparkly, shining

Fluttering butterflies

Up beat

Flying solo

Lets go dancing

Everybody - lets go to the party

Have a glass of champagne

Bubbly, lets mingle

Make some new friends

Everybody coming down

For a dance and a boogie

Party, all night party

I’m liking the vibe

The time of our lives
