Looking Ahead
At Artbox London, our ambition is to strengthen and share an artist-led approach that expands who is able to access, participate in, and be recognised within contemporary art.
Our focus is on depth, quality, and sustainability - ensuring artists are supported to develop their creative practice in ways that reflect their interests, pace, and ambitions, while building a model of supported studio practice that can inform and influence others.
Listening and learning
Listening to artists is central to how Artbox works. Over time, we have learned that there is no single way to hear every voice. Instead, we take an ongoing, reflective approach - learning through observation, conversation, creative practice, and feedback gathered in different ways.
This learning shapes how we develop our programmes, support individual artists, and evolve our approach. We remain committed to continually reviewing how we listen, respond, and adapt as artists’ needs, interests, and ambitions change.
Strengthening our approach
In the coming years, our priority is to deepen the quality of what we do. This includes:
developing more personalised, artist-led support
strengthening how artists’ creative development is understood and supported over time
embedding reflection and learning across the organisation
ensuring Artbox remains a sustainable, thoughtful, and ambitious place for artists
Rather than expanding quickly, we are focused on doing this work well.
Extending our reach
Alongside our studio-based work, we are interested in widening the reach of Artbox beyond our physical space. This may include sharing learning, developing new ways for artists’ work to be seen and valued, and supporting others to develop supported studio approaches.
This could take many forms - from digital content and public conversations, to partnerships, increased visibility for artists’ work, and contributing to wider thinking about access and inclusion within contemporary art.
If you would like to support Artbox’s future work - through partnership, collaboration, or funding - we would welcome the conversation.
