Pip

Pip’s themes often concern the macabre, the gruesome, the spooky, driven by an interest in human psychological drives. Halloween is his favourite time of year, so zombies, ghosts, skeletons and ghouls populate his sketchbooks.

Pip’s drawings are highly skilful and characterful, with a nod to cartoons, especially manga. As well traditional drawing media, his work will often expand into 3 dimensions, taking a more sculptural form and sometimes require a level of playful physical interaction.

Pip recently finished at college and the last few years were tough, given the limitations of Covid. For many people with learning disabilities and autism, leaving education can be a challenging transition, especially as many services are only funded for young people. At Artbox Pip has found a consistent weekly activity and a sense of community.
