Ashley
Ashley’s work radiates joy and wit. Collage has long been central to her practice, with characters from fashion magazines reimagined in humorous, surreal contexts. Flowers and plants recur in her recent work, whether built from paper to create lush fields of colour, painted and drawn directly with bold, confident forms, or stitched into embroidered pieces - including a recent series of handmade sofa cushions. Ashley works in a steady state of focus, but she’s always listening to the chats around the studio and will often pause her work to laugh or offer encouragement to others. The lines, shapes, and colour choices Ashley makes are infused with optimism and her artworks easily communicate that.
In 2020, more than 60 of her works were acquired by the Hoxton Hotel, bringing her vibrant creativity into the lives of its guests.
“I like doing art, it feels good and I’m proud of myself.”
