About the artist

Joel produces three-dimensional collages using a combination of found materials and mediums like clay. This can sometimes generate unexpected textural contrasts. His inventive use of what he finds manifests itself in architectural and figurative models, and sometimes warlike fantasy figures. Joel also designs graphics in which his creatures recur, displaying both human and animal characteristics. He is very independent and focused, and this is demonstrated in his attention to detail in all his sculpture. Joel says, “I like coming to Artbox because I don’t like staying at home bored all day – I need something fun. I feel happy when making art.”
