Artbox London now
Artbox London offers a regular programme of 12 art workshops per week in the studio, as well as trips, exhibitions and sales opportunities.
We engage around 80 artists with learning disabilities and autistic artists on a regular basis in our studio just off Caledonian Road in Islington, London.
We have begun a peer-to-peer network, the Artist Advisory Group, to better understand the needs, desires and interests of all the artists who attend sessions at Artbox London.
The near future
Over the next few years we are focusing on improving the quality of our services, ensuring that we are being ambitious for our artists and that the artists are happy and thriving at Artbox.
We will achieve this in three ways:
Look more closely at the needs, ambitions and potential of our artists
Set up systems to ensure artists and support networks are sharing ideas about our service
Personalise our service to fit the above.
The future
In the future we hope to expand into an additional, larger space. We have lots of ideas of how this could look - including having a dedicated Artbox gallery space - but we want to test ways of working with our artists to determine how best to use the space once we have it.
There are many aspects of a creative practice that our artists are interested in pursuing which we cannot offer them within the confines of our current studio space. We look forward to expanding the organisation’s vision led by the expanding creative vision of our artists.
