‘I have painted Keanu Reeves because he’s funny and strong. I like Keanu’s style and outlook on life.

To make this piece I have used paint brushes, paint and some palettes.I like using acrylic paint and it is unique and easy to handle.

The flow was cool when starting to paint. I have used contrasting colours in this artwork.

I feel confident looking at the artwork, the mood of the piece is pleasant and the colours of the piece are smooth.

I think the focal point of my piece is the background.’

Ahmar has a unique and distinctive quality to his work, in how he includes detail and transforms imagery.

This painting started off as a portrait of Keanu Reeves, and shifted over time as Ahmar worked in different colours, which warped the face of Keanu Reeves into a more abstract portrait, as pieces became detached, and took on different qualities.

This is because Ahmar has a process led approach to his work and a real enjoyment in the mediums that he is using. He enjoys the texture of the material he is working with and really hones in on specific details.
