Seatton

Pinstripe Rain, 2023

Ink, tempera powder and pastel on velour

Seatton has a highly distinct and expressive way of depicting the world - objects, space and especially figures are rendered in a strange and singular way.

Many of Seatton’s signatures are present in this piece - stylish figures arranged in different scales, several layers, and a strange rendering to the scene. However, this piece blurs Seatton’s usual distinct lines, creating a blur of colours on velour.

Seatton has recently been experimenting with working on fabric. Every week he comes to the Artbox studio and tries new approaches to materials, imagery and methods. His interest in shifting between mediums clash, resulting in unexpected and strange confluences of imagery.
