Patricia

Patricia’s work explores figurative subjects, taking inspiration from books and figures from films. She playfully abstracts the colours, using bright acrylic paint on canvas for a modernist style. Her works are brought alive through her use of contrasting colours, broad brush strokes and expressive patterns.

Patricia often uses found materials - here she has made the unusual choice of using cardboard as a canvas, producing giant figures inspired by cathedral windows. She enjoys using acrylics on the cardboard, but often returns to a piece once it has dried to add layers of detail in pens.

Every artwork Patricia makes has a narrative. She enjoys coming up with a context for each piece, and has a clear image in her mind of what she wants to achieve.
