"I like the blue top, I like the bright yellow paint. [I used] paint. I felt happy painting it. I like the colours, rainbow colours."

When Lucas paints a person he refers it to himself and it becomes a self portrait. Lucas was inspired by the artist Lubaina Himid’s work, creating a confluence between his own style and Himid’s.
