Self Portrait

Ink and pen on paper

41.9 x 29.7cm

This piece is related to my identity because it is a drawing of myself that was prompted by working with my tutor Charlotte.

To create this piece I used pencil to outline it. Then i used pink paint, with blue freen and white pen. I used two green shades, brown, and light brown ink.

I chose the colours because they are the colours Iā€™m wearing. I created this piece in 3 hours so I used pink for both the hat and the jumper which ins an adaptation of the colours I'm wearing.

The colours in the piece are all the colours I'm wearing - the blue in the background is the same colour as my leggings, the pink is the same colour as my hat, brown is used because I dye my hair brown. I said gold because I wanted to balance the colour. If I stand in the sun, the colour will fade into the background.

When I do a portrait I never colour it because then the picture would fade in with the paint.

The details in my piece are copied from my t-shirt.

I chose the pattern in the background as they are like tiles on a kitchen wall.
