David

Kite

Acrylic on canvas

76 x 76cm

David Manley is a South London based artist and graduate of East London University .

He has a strong interest in Global Politics, Climate Change, Science, Religion, History and Aviation.

The piece addresses the origins of the atomic bomb, and its connection to the Chinese military, General Han Xin of the Han Dynasty, who flew his kite over his enemy’s city walls in 200 BC.

David is making the connection between these two turning points in history and the dangerous ways in which such simple ideas can develop over time and through technology.
