Anna

Anna is an artist who creates abstract and expressive works. Her paintings are highly detailed and visually striking; harnessing the geometric shape, Anna’s pieces are an accomplished exploration into materiality, colour, form and texture which push the boundaries of abstract painting. Her work is reminiscent of visual phenomena, such as bokeh: the blurred, out of focus part of a photograph. She often works in layers to develop texture and depth in her works, mixing a bright palette to create an interesting dialogue between colours and textures.

Anna uses existing objects around the studio to create her works, like upcycling old canvases and collaging her old artworks to create new ones. This sustainable act lends extremely well to Anna’s practice - previously discarded materials have become high quality artworks, with each old object creating an exciting surface for creative expression.
